L-Citrulline is a non-essential amino acid that is synthesized from other amino
acids. The body converts L-arginine to L-citrulline, a byproduct of which is nitric oxide.
The L-citrulline is also chemically recycled back into arginine in the endothelial cells of
the blood vessels. Citrulline and arginine have similar benefits, but for healthy blood flow
and nitric oxide production, citrulline is preferred because arginine gets diverted to many
other less critical uses while citrulline's main action and function is in the blood
